Personality

l Painfully Shy l Makoto's devotion to his studies has crippled him when it comes to human interaction and continues to be one that bites him in the ass. Rather than face a public situation or, God forbid, someone tries to talk to him, he'll do what he can to avoid the situation. Usually a rushed and mumbled answer or a general, rather jagged, point in the right direction will be the most he can muster before speeding away. Those on the female side of the gender spectrum will be lucky enough to get even that. He has no desire to offend anyone but it's reactions like these that give off a rude first impression of him, unfortunately.

l Closet Gent l A well mannered guy, all awkwardness aside. Though he will hesitate to help, his conscious will get the better of him 9.9/10 times. He's one of those people who pick up worms off the sidewalk so they won't get stepped on and traps spiders in a cup to release them outside.

l Studious l Speaks for itself, he throws himself headfirst into his studies and they are in the Top Five most important things to do. It's his constant studying that keep the college payments off of his parents, though they do help pay for his daily life.

l Po-Po-Po-Poker Face l Does his absolute best to hide his emotional discomfort while amongst the public eye. If the level of his discomfort his rather high, breaks in his poker face become incredibly obvious.

l Entrenched l Rarely does he delve from his daily routine, but it makes it easier to find him. One can normally find him, when not in classes, either in the labs, the library, or rolling around alone in his apartment. The idea of change or a new schedule makes him nervous as he can't prepare for whatever situation his mind can come up with as well as he normally believes he could.

Bio
Makoto led a quiet life ever since he was small. His mother and father worked diligently as businessmen while his Grandmother remained at their home to take care of him. His Grandmother was kind and patient. She always raised garden outside in the backyard with a small koi pond nestled by the bushes where frogs and turtles and other creatures would come. The child found comfort in this place and spent many afternoons outside to watch the fish swim. He learned what he could about the creatures around him but it wasn’t until schooling started that his appetite began to be fed.

Schooling was a high priority for Makoto’s parents who began to teach him at a young age. He was quickly enrolled in Elementary School and worked for his high marks under the watchful eyes of his guardians. They made sure he studied and practiced writing before he was sent to bed, as well as read to him. It wasn’t long before his curiosity for life got him to study and explore on his own. Proud of his new found knowledge, he would bring in pictures of his backyard friends to show to the class who also found them rather intriguing. Unfortunately, while his interest in the small world only grew, classmates found the information old and boring. Embarrassed, Makoto began to keep his findings to himself.

As Middle School began, he still had trouble getting along with other students. They thought Makoto was rather strange and the creatures that lived in his backyard were still not interesting, like they used to be, now they were just dirty and gross. He oddities did manage to charm two students in his homeroom and they soon became very close friends.

Though, their friendship could not keep them together for long. Makoto’s high marks would get him into a prestigious high school, he would have to part from his two best friends. The three did try their best to keep up the friendship, but the neighboring high schools were quite a distance from each other and eventually just became a hassle. Makoto did try to socialize with his peers, but only became anxious and fled when the time arose after recalling rejections from his past years. He eventually dug himself into a very lonely hole and buried himself in his studies. Friendship became a thing of the past and was now seen only as a tiresome hassle.

The total immersion into his studies earned him the top spot at the High School, making his family extremely proud. He was able to fund his first years at Kamenoko University through the scholarships he earned and continues to work hard to keep them. Makoto lives alone with his pet turtle, working with the same mentality he’s had for several years.

During his years at Kamenoko, the boy kept his grades high while keeping himself closed off to the outside world. Through the pestering nonsense of one Kishimoto Atsuko, he slowly (but surely) inched out of his shell to the point where he's even made a few acquaintances. The two became close friends and spent their days together until the day of his graduation arrived. As most Japanese do, Makoto cut off the hair he hid behind for so long as his way of celebrating the new and unknown days ahead of him. A tearful goodbye later, he's returned to his home in Kiriyu and was quickly snatched up by the biotech industry stationed there. He often returns to Tokyo to visit his friends when he can.

Six months after his graduation, Makoto has ultimately reverted back to his old ways. With Atsuko no longer around to keep him grounded, his self-doubt and deprecation have begun to drag him down a slippery slope. Signs of dementia have begun to surface as his world has begun to mix with flashes of hallucinogenic images that scare him away from any rest. Frightened into submission, Makoto refuses to tell anyone about any of this.


With his mental state deteriorating, Makoto was eventually fired from his internship due to inability to concentrate and the hallucinations from the dementia growing gradually stronger. He now spends most of his time at home, going out rarely for grocery shopping or to walk the dog, with the fear that he's become unable to differentiate reality from the images his mind creates. Interactions with other humans requires all of his energy which ends up leaving him mentally and physically wiped out to the point where he'll break a conversation short to race home to recharge.

Occupation
[x] Past teachers signed him up to be a tutor for those who needed assistance. The job fell through when Makoto was unable to communicate with the students he was teaching.
[x] After graduating from university, he returned to his home town and is worked for a while as an intern for wildlife studies.
[x] Now out of his internship, he does small jobs over the internet for some income.

[x] Rescued a small turtle from the road and named her K-Chan.
[x] He does have some singing talent but, of course, literally no one knows about it.
